This Veggie ice-cream man was created by Shandhini as a hands-on activity in Grade II. The creation is so wonderful adding a dash of style with the straw hat on. Little Shandhini has an artistic eye in bringing the shapes of vegetables together. Cutting them into various shapes and sizes would have given her an analytical mind to determine the outcome. It is kind of building with tinker toys, only here it is vegetable or fruit.
Kids enjoy with their families in making variety of shapes and some even devour their shapes and start a pact with eating veggies. There is a little bit of everything here – math, science, literacy, art and recipe. Kids get introduced to nutrition, venturing into gardening, learning farming and subsequently understanding agriculture.
