Sri Venkateswara Matriculation Higher Secondary School proudly celebrated its Annual Sports Meet 2025–2026 on 26th January 2026 with great enthusiasm, discipline, and sporting spirit. The event was a vibrant showcase of talent, teamwork, and dedication, reflecting the holistic development of our students.
The programme commenced with a majestic Guard of Honour presented by the RSP Cadets and Band students, followed by the soulful rendition of Thamizhthai Vaazhthu by the School Choir. The gathering was warmly welcomed by Priya Dharshini M., XI F – SPL, who set the tone for the grand celebration.
The ceremonial Flag Unfurling of the National and Olympic flags by the Chief Guest and the Correspondent symbolized unity and sportsmanship. The atmosphere resonated with patriotism during the Patriotic Hymn rendered by the Choir. The impressive March Past by the Senate and the four Houses displayed discipline and synchronization, earning admiration from the audience.
A significant highlight was the Igniting of the Olympic Torch by our star players, followed by the solemn Oath Taking Ceremony led by Saras Kumar Misra, IX B – Sports Head Boy, reaffirming the commitment to fair play and integrity. The meet was officially declared open amidst cheers and applause.
The event was enriched with a graceful Inaugural Dance by Grade XI girls and the release of the Sports Magazine “Champion Chronicle.” The Annual Sports Report was presented by Mr. Raja Veera Pandian, HOD – Physical Education, highlighting the year’s achievements and milestones.
The cultural and athletic performances such as Traditional Martial Arts by the Venkateswarans, Harmony of Life, Kuch Kariyaye, Twirling Rings (Grade VI & VII), Synchronized Mass Drill (Grade VIII Boys), Dance Aerobics (Grade VIII Girls), and Step Storm Crew (Grade IX) added colour and energy to the celebration.
The gathering was inspired by the Presidential Address delivered by Dr. Smt. Uma Kannan, Founder Principal – SVGS. The Management felicitated the Chief Guest, followed by an insightful Chief Guest Address by Shri Nandakumar IRS, who motivated the students to pursue excellence with determination and integrity.
Exciting Parent Events and the much-awaited Lucky Corner brought joy and participation from the parent community.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony honoured Board Exam Toppers, Centum Producers, Proficiency Awardees, 100% Attendance achievers, Zonal Winners, Sports Academy & Intra-School Winners, and Overall Championship winners, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant Band Ensemble, the ceremonial Flag Retreat, a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Tarika, IX A – ASPL, and the singing of the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of a memorable Sports Meet.
